My brother blew up his stroked 300ex (352cc) and just bought a new 350x motor. And last night he got it in the frame and wired up and is just waiting for the custom exhaust to be made.

my question is, he is going to build this motor also. How fast will it be compared to a 400ex, because when he was done with his 300x he was smoking 400's, and Z's. i dont want him to be faster than me again, so what do i have to get my bike to keep up with him? Is this ancient bike going to smoke me again?

its gonna be fast, stock for stock a 350x makes as much hp as a 400ex. the ratios are different, but if you don't smoke him, he'll be in spitting distance

Stock for Stock the 350X motor is 1 horse less, not a big difference. The ATC 350x usually beats 400's because it's about 100 pounds lighter. I've seen a poweroll 350x kit that put it at 420cc's beating everything except built shee's and a 410PSI? 250r. They can be potent engines.

yeah them 350x engines can really really come alive wit a bore kit and cam, if he does stroke work u better save up some money just so u can compete with him.

That 350x in stock form will be pretty close to that 400EX, close enough that gearing or rider ability can make the difference, and certainly much faster than a stock 300EX. If he puts the same amount of money into this 350X that he put into that 300EX, you won't stand a chance unless you're running a 440.
