Congrats Kenny! My cousin has a Deere 4610 4WD with backhoe, front loader and belly mower attachments and it's a great tractor. We were building a track on his property and got the Bobcat stuck in the mud and it even had tracks on it. We hooked a tow strap to the Deere and pulled the 'Cat out backwards and the tractor never even seemed to work.

yeah i cant wait to pick it up next week. it has the front end loader, and a 60 inch belly mower. i think we will purchase the 48 inch tiller also so we can put in a garden and work food plots for the deer.

i thought i might not need one but the more spring approaches the more work i seem to find use for it:p

The backhoe is nice to have too. You don't think you'll ever use it until you've got it and then you find all sorts of jobs for it. We put downspouts in at my house and several other places and just general digging that sure beats a shovel and my back:D

Are u big enough to operate that toy?

J/K

How does it handle compared to the YFZ? How much horsepower does it have?

Pappy
03-12-2004, 12:22 PM
its a 20 HP 3 cyl diesel. the yfz is faster and handles better, but the 4100 has more attachments:p

That 48" Tiller is one handy SOB. I used my friends when I had to redo the yard after the tornado and that thing worked like a champ.

The tractor in the pic apears to be a 460(?). Is that the size you got or smaller or larger? My freind is looking at the 420 with a loader and hoe. But cant make up his mind between that or the Kubota. He doesnt really like that fact that the Deere will only accept Deere attactments. And the Kubota is about a grand cheaper.

good choice pappy... we run quite a bit of green on our farm..... we sell new Mahindra tractors, hp ranges from 20-65... they are comparable to the major brands just not an established name yet... all these smaller tractors are made over-seas anyway...

kubota are solid tractors and personally think there easier to opperate. the kyotes ( sp ) are the crappiest tractors ive ever had to opperate, things were constantly wrong with it. my job had the kubota but it got stolen, then they bought the kyotes, thing constantly had problems, sold it for the john deere. the deere was great but i missed the kubota.

Pappy, how much did that John Deere run you? Did you get the shuttle shift that makes it so you can forward/reverse with one lever without slowing down?

Kubotas are only good for light duty work that's why Kubotas line of tractors top out at 100-120 hp. The reason they are lighter is because they use thinner steel on everything. Look at the 3 pt. on a Kubota then look at the 3 pt on another name brand tractor. Kubota is built light which is fine if you don't work them hard. Just my 2 cents.
