Hey appreciate guys!.....Can't wait til I get the rest of my parts...

I picked up the bike on Jan. 28th rode it for no more than 2hrs and it took a trip west, north, southeast and back home....just now got it back.

kssandduner, DMC has turned out some decent numbers on their previous exhaust, so I will give it a try.

stealth400ex, prp is good on there price, maybe better than some mfg's, quality and durability I think is great. As far as I know they don't have a websight.

I wish my pictures would have turned out a little bigger in the post and I had them vertical for everyone to see a little easier.

Macsolocam-whats up man?
That quad looks sick. Your quad and Farr's are the best I have seen so far (anyone want to step up to the plate- I'm getting married in July & lucky I have the machine with AC's on it) So do those a-arms easily use the stock shocks? Did you adjust them yourself or get them reworked? I would like to get some width like that and save cash. I don't race. I have the Works Connection lever and hot start but haven't installed it yet. Is the stock cable different? I was told there was an extra part you had to order. Thanks for the help. Honestly, Great Job. That quad is the sweeeetness.;)

Hey macsolocam, how much did you pay johnny for it ?

Just wonderin how well those stock shocks works with longer arms

I seen someone ask if you had to have them resetup to work with the longer width or longer swingarm?

First, on this bike I did a one stop shop. I went to JH Racing. Give him a call if you are interested in any aftermarket parts for your trx or yfz!! (918) 371-0101 ask for Johnny. I am very pleased in the service, work, price and concern for me as a buyer in the appliacation I will be riding this bike.

Yes, the stock shocks work good with these A-arms. We just adjusted the comp., rebound, and pre-load for a lower ride height and a better reaction.

The works connection hot star lever needs the crf fcr cable to work propertly.

Thanks Macsolocam,
Knowing that can save us a bunch of cash. I don't race so I really don't want to buy Elka's. Thanks for the quick response. You the man!

Give updog industries a call at 877-925-1220. Let them know you saw them on exriders. I think they are going to be a sight sponsor.

very nice quad man, andrew75 has an equally nice quad, and i got my first ride aboard a trx450 on his, if i only knew how a stock one performed cause man, with his elka shocks, it was riding as low as a go-cart and as smooth as a cadillac:D

Hey, what has everybody heard about the HI-Per beadlocks? Do they leak air at all? I know they're light and whatever. The reason I ask is because I just bought a full set, used. They have the integrated hubs as well on the backs. I don't have them yet. Hopefully by the end of the month. I had heard a story about a guy locally that bought some and had problems with them leaking. I'm looking forward to getting them. They have the red rings inner and outer and should look sweet on my new R! I'll try and post some pics as soon as I get them.

The cam mod with the fcr carb really wakes this bike up....can't wait til I get that 13:1 piston and maybe a port and polish job.

With this bike lower to the ground with the a-arms, axle, +1 swingarm and smaller tires it does not want to wheelie.

one thing I noticed about it though second gear revs out really fast and call for a fast shift into third....I would like to hold it in second a little longer.....a cdi box is really in need I think.

I rode it for the first time on the mx track this weekend...I was tring the corners in second and had plenty of power....tried it in third and it worked just fine. Had to get use to feathering the clutch a little more though. I could run the hole track in third and fourth...which will make you hold on after I did the carb and cam.

My first pro race in moto 1 got the holeshot held first for 1 lap and let the quad die on me in one of the corners. JH Racing has my hot start cable but I did not have in installed yet. So I was kicking for a while. Second moto took the holeshot and held first all seven laps.

With the a-arms that I am running using the stock shocks work pretty good....but If anybody decides to run this set up you will have to run your compression all the way up or nearly all the way. During the first two practices I bottomed out and sprainged my right ankle. After I turned the compression up 45-55 ft jumps felt ok. Cant wait to get my long travel a-arms and pep shocks!!!

Mac how you like that Baldwin pipe?? Thanks alot

macsolocam
03-18-2004, 09:23 PM
I think I am growing on this pipe. I have a dmc ordered and still will give it a try but this pipe is really great.

It has good air flow, constructed very well and the sound is awsome....ya know loud!!!!!

I think is has a good power gain.

03-18-2004, 09:53 PM
Did you adjust the pre-load on the stock shock to sit lower? Are you gonnna use the stocker when you get the LT front end? Thanks.

macsolocam
03-19-2004, 08:42 AM
Yes we did adjust the pre-load for a lower ride height. But if anybody else does this and runs mx you will have to run your compression almost all the way up. I think mine is 1 turn from the firmest setting.....and it is still not too firm to soak up the little bumps. I will be running like 19 or 20 inch pep's on my long travel a -arms.

Nice 450, one of the best lookin ive seen.

Does your left side nerf sit higher then the right? It kinda looks like that from the pictures, is there a reason for that? The left side looks like it goes about the footpeg and on the right it goes below it. J/W

03-21-2004, 06:44 PM
Isn't there a HRC kit for the CRF bike? 03 or 04 it's good to know the bike cam works with the quad. If so that cam might be cool.

Does the bike carb have a throttle position sensor? Or is it even needed.

macsolocam
03-22-2004, 12:51 PM
Rough rider01, the right nerf is a little lower. Did not even notice it until you asked...good eye! The holes just got drilled in different places, but its ok it has not effect in riding.

nacsracer12, you could relocate it but you really don't need it, unless you want to keep the lights, fan, taillight, etc.

the_hulkamainc, I don't know of a hrc kit for the dirtbike and, on the carb I don't think it has a throttle pos. sensor but not sure.

Here are a few pictures of me on the track this past weekend.
