Well that bike started out from the dealership w/ a 440 kit in it then he had Grand Prix Cycle in Albany send it to some guy in Washington named Fletcher that is supposed to have 3 of the fastest 400's on the race circuit build it up. I know that all they used was the piston from the 440 kit, I wouldn't even know what kind of # to put on it. That guy weighs over 300 pounds though and he needs all that power to even try and compete. It is a lot faster w/ him off of it. He also had the 4+ swing arm added and 1+ forward and 2+ outward A-arms added and all the chrome, he has close the 13000 in it. I never even seen you guy race. I must have been sitting up top. The only racing I did was w/ my brother in-law who has pretty much the same bike as me 2004 400 EX pretty much stock.

He does my motors...and my EX motor could be called his flagship motor...fastest EX I have had experience with, hands down. He is a good guy, doing my CRF right now. :macho

Hondaman, was he there the same weekend I saw you there?

Hey Chef what is the guys name, all I know is Fletcher. Where is the guy located. We were in Florence the 19-21 and it was a yellow 400 EX that said Grand Prix on the tank and had a lot of chrome. The rider was a really big Guy 300+. What did he do to your EX.

His name is Russ Fletcher, I just call him Fletch, or Russ. His shop is in Orchards now, and his machine shop, where he actually does the porting and machine work stuff to the motors is in Camas at his house.

The first time we did the motor there, he did the full blown 440, like 12.5:1 Wiseco, 1mm O/S Valves all around, Web Cam 463/9i, Ti valve springs, Hot Rods Rod, lightened flywheel, port work, Big Gun Exhaust, FCR39, Hinson Clutch basket and pressure plate, and lightened a few other things just for revs.

The next time, after my carb had some problems and burnt the 440 up, we went to a 450 bore and did 2mm O/S Intake Valves, changed the cam, and got a new header that Big Gun was testing out. It had quite a bit more horsepower then than before.

The last time we had the motor apart, we went to between a 460 and 465, not 100% on the exact CC, raised the compression to about 13.5:1, some custom made Ti intake valves that are like 3mm O/S or bigger, went to a more top-end cam, polished the crank and rod, took some more out of the flywheel, went to a custom 8 plate Hinson clutch setup, did some tranny work, installed an FST Oil Cooler, and put on the FCR41. We got another set of Headers later that made a little difference in the pull from low-mid, and stayed the same on top, and changed the sound a little. Thats about it for the EX though.

He put together my PSI425R motor as well. He did some more work to the porting on that cylinder, and did alot of machine work to the rest of the motor.

Hes doing a Wiseco CRF500 motor for me now...not sure on all the specifics of it, but it should throw down 15-20 more hp than my EX.

What'd he do to your buddies bike?

I asked him he said that you did ask him if he was on here and he didn't know what you were talking about. He said he doesn't remember you beating him though. He tends to forget things like that really easily. Hey honda man how old are you he said you were just a kid.
