I tried installing my new Lonestar axle today and it would not work. If you slide the brake hub all the way to where the splines hit the taper, there's no room to put the circlip in the axle. It's about a 1/2" away from the outside of the axle nut in the inside. I need someone to measure from the circlip groove on the axle to the wheel hub flange. Mine is 8 1/2" from the groove to the edge of the wheel hub flange. My buddies measured 7 3/4". Sounds like this axle was marked as a 400ex and goes to something else or it's FU@KED UP!!! THIS REALLY SUCKS!! It's not leaving a good first impression!! I've got a 2 day weekend riding trip planned with no axle! :grr: Someone PLEASE HELP!!!:(

Well, I'm at work now so I'll try to get a pic in the morning. If you take the outer nut off and just slide the threaded sleeve on, you can barely see the groove. I also have a Lonestar anti-fade, and if you screw the nut all the way down you get the same result, but you can't see the axle groove at all. I think that it's the wrong axle. It says 400ex on it, but I think they Focked up!! I put my stocker in just to try it and it worked fine with the LS anti-fade and the stock nut. What gives?? Can you guys measure the distance between that groove and the wheel hub mating surface and tell me what you get?

Make sure the axleis in all the way, I had to use a block of wood and a BFH to get it in plaace. Here's a pic of how close the sprocket hub is to the carrier...

Mine was that close. If it had been any closer. it would rub. WTF?? This one's got me baffled!! Even with the axle out and on a bench, the brake hub and hub nut won't slide in far enough to let the circlip go in the groove. It's over a half an inch off!! I still think it's the wrong axle or the axle is FOCKED UP from the factory having the circlip groove cut in the wrong place!!:grr:

I just measured mine and it's 'about' 7 3/4" too.

Sounds like LSR missed something:confused: :(

you don't have a 250r antifade on there by chance

Mine is 7 and 3/4 of an inche also.

it also measures 10 an 1/4 inches from sproket hub to groove

I don't think so. I tried my stock nut with the same results.
