I just read the thread on choke removal and was thinking of doing it. My question is when you do this it allows more air flow which means it woudl run leaner right? Kind of a dumb question but I want to be sure.

the choke only effects the slow circuit of the carb. It would be lean only at idle and 1/4 throttle.. That's why the 42 pilot replaces the 38..

If you remove your choke...you can still ride it, but good luck getting it started. My friend removed his choke and didn't install his 42 piolet right away, and he had to take off the air filter each time and hold his hand over the air intake to choke the motor. Even than it was a pain in the *** to start. My advise to you is to get at least a 40 piolet before removing your choke. If thats still not big enough, than you have the 42 and 45..I don't think you will go past the 45.

My pilot is one up from stock and I have a removed choke. I have no problem starting if its either 90 degrees out or 10 degrees out.

Good luck!
