Hey guys im new to the site. IM 15. I have always riden dirtbikes, and im looking for a quad to take in the trails, and through some deep mud. I looked at the warrior, but everybody i know that has them say that they break if you ride in mud, I love the 400ex, but it has no reverse. The 300ex has reverse, but i rode one and it lacks the power that i want. I also looked at the raptor 660, but many people said that they are crap and that they break. I was wondering about the new raptor 350. How is it inmud and on trails? Does anybody have information on it? Also what quad do you think is the best for trails and mud? thanks for your help.

the raptor 350 is nothing more then an appearance updated warrior.

id say a z400 may be what will fill your needs

i actually like the warrior as long as its maintained and not trashed it will last along time. riding in mud will wear out alot of normal wear items faster then most would like(bearings and seals...bearing carriers ..bushings) no matter what you ride in the mud you will repair it more then a typical trail riden atv.

ive riden warriors from stock to highly pissed off and they all seem pretty decent. if i ran across a deal on one i wouldnt pass it up

$4000:eek2: that sounds a little high to me. The Warrior is a nice quad. It's heavy in the front end but it handles pretty good. I personally really like the new Raptor 350. Yamaha claims to have trimmed some weight on it. (375lbs verses the warriors over 400lbs) I'd wait for the Raptor 350 unless you can get a Warrior cheap(under $3000)

the new raptor 350 is almost 5000! thats way to much. How much is an 01 warrior worth?

I wouldn't way more than $3300 with mods. $3500 at most. Usually they are about the same price as the 300ex's and my 01 300ex wouldn't go for more than $3500

3200

But you could always look elsewhere. I bought a 96 and an 87 for 3 grand a few years ago.

He is insulting you with that price. That is way too much for the quad, although they are nice. I have had two of them, and have been really happy. They don't compare to my 400ex though!

The Raptor 350 is NOT just a warrior with different plastic. One of the mags said that Yamaha done some stuff to the motor and suspension to make it better. I'd say it will beat a 300ex now.

If I were you i would just get a Z 400. Yea 4000 sounds a litle too much for a 01. I would say anywhere from 3 grand to 3500 is reasonable.

i really wouldn't get a warrior. the rear end is a pain in the arse to adjust the chain. if you don't get it just perfect then it wears the bearings out faster. then changing them is really a pain. i would suggest a 300ex even thouh you may think it has less power than a warrior, you must also remember it is only a 282cc. where has the warrior is like a 347 or 348cc, not quite sure. but for the big difference in cc they are extremely different. the 300ex front end is a ton lighter make it wheelie really easy. i also think the 300ex handles alot better, and i'm not meaning a little but alot. this is all my opinion but since i own both a warrior and a 300ex, i believe it is a good one to think about.

It always beat the 300ex before, it's just more heavy and has a longer wheel base. I think rider size is the biggest thing to take into consideration. If your bigger or heavier, then the warrior's longer wheelbase, and more powerful motor will be better for you. If your a shorter lighter pilot, the 300ex will be a better mount for you. Nobody even know's what the new raptor is like yet, so don't be so fast to judge it.

Both machines can be made alot better also.

The Raptor 350 is just a Warrior with Raptor plastic, some changes have been made to the suspension but most everything else is just the same as a Warrior. I had a 92 Warrior and loved it, I just sold it last year and NEVER had any problems with it, it is an all around good quad for any riding conditions (except jumping). As for people telling you the Raptor breaks, they are full of shiznit. Yeah the 01 and 02 Rappy's had trannie problems, but those are taken care of now.

I did some checking on the 350 raptor verses the warrior, the warrior is longer(probably the front bumper) they used a composit bumper on the raptor to cut weight the raptor is taller(plastic and seat) the raptor has better shocks but less ground clearance(low profile rear tires) The seat is skinnier and it has less plasic than the warrior(weight and looks) the engine, tranny, and frame are the same. Hope this helps

Has anyone looked on atvtraderonline to compair prices? you can get a stock 2000 warrior for about2000-2500.Now i may be slow but most of the time if a quad has been modified than it is riden harder. Try to find a quad that an old farmer uses to get his mail and stuff. thats the quad that is worth the money. If you know the history of a quad that means alot. Who hasn't bought a machine than found out shortly after that every bearing is packed full of mud, or the steering stem is cracked. Just be carefull and very picky, you worked hard for your money spend it wisely.

4000$ for an 01 warrior ??????????????????? I dont think so. My friend payed 1500$ for one with mods. My cousin payed 4000$ for an 03 Z400. You might want to keep looking.

I just bought a 2004 model 350 raptor in real good condition for 3,200. I bought it used but i was looking at brand new one for around 4,500. So i pesonally think that 4000 is too high for a 01 model. ive taken a couple of rides down the river and places and i like riding this bike. its comfortable and handles good. One thing i dont like to much is the top speed. i recently bought a front sprocket for that speed i want.

ok, first off, the raptor 350 is just a warrior with differnt plastics

I have a 2005 warrior,, it is ok for what it is ,, i think maybe the kid should get a kfx400, z400 or dvx 400 *all the same bike*

But in time,, just as i did,, he will want something faster,, then u move on to the 450's

i have a raptor 350 and it a good quad but if i were you i would go to a yfz 450 or a 400ex even though they don't have revers. I hardly ever use the revers on my raptor

Wrong.
Im 6.3 and 240lbs and raced a kid on a 04-05 completly stock blaster who weighed about 110lbs? and i beat him by 1 1/2 quad lengths and he has been ridning that thing just about everyday so he is good shiftin wise and my raptor was completly stock too with stock gearing... but when it comes to WOT 6th gear he justtttttttttttttttttttt past me running about 1mph quicker then me with pretty big tires on it that time though
