what is the best tools to get the axle nut off will i ruin the nut if i use a pipe wrench. the manual says to use a 45mm and a 56 mm wrench but don't own and do not want to pay alot of money for them.
I used pipe wrenches and they hashed the nuts a bit but I think they were still usable. Using rags inbetween the wrench and nut might help. I wasn't worried about messing them up because I had an aftermaket dual pinch bolt nut ready to go on;) They run aboout $40-50 I think and very easy to install.
One or both of the tools in the manual are specialty tools and I bet spendy.

I used a pipe wrench on mine and it tore it up a little bit, but I used the same nut again and it worked fine. I've been riding quite a few times with it like this with no problems. If you have a strap wrench that might work, but it might tear it up if your not careful.

I used my big crecent wrench on the small one and got a HUGE cheap crecent wrench (I think it was like $20) from Harbor Freight tools for the big one. They sell cheap tools from taiwan. It's like a 36" wrench or something. lol
Works great.
