View Full Version : Hiper Rim Leak Fixed

I bought a set of used Hiper front rims awhile back. Had some difficulty with one of them not holding air. It was leaking where the ring mates to the rim surface.

I thought I had it fixed at one time with it just sitting in the garage but after a couple of laps on our track it would need to be topped off.

Last week I took note of where the leak was and took the ring off again. I felt around the area where the threaded metal inserts are and discovered a couple of them a bit higher than the others. It seems they were pulled out of the rim just slightly. So using a hammer and a metal shaft I tapped them in with a moderate amount of force. Put it back together and aired it up.

Did ten laps yesterday with no problems and it's still holding air.
I'm relieved this dilema has been resolved :)

13/16" 3/4" open-end wrench almost fits. They are Burgard arms if that helps.:)
