It matters how pumped up the 250r is. If the 250r has just a pipe than the 450r will win but like a 250r like mine the 450r don't have a chance thats if your going to a strait line... It seems everyone likes to do that on this site! Once you start riding in the woods and the trails then the 450r is better. I would get the 450r drop a HRC kit in there and call it good.

It really depends on what kind of riding you plan on doing. If you want to buy a platform to build a racer then get the 450r. You could also say the same for the 250r, but, two strokes are on their way out. If you are only talkin in a straight line, then the Banshee is the ticket. You can make a Banshee outrun anything, but to be honest, that is about all it is good for. For an overall quad, do yourself a favor, get the 450R, the YFZ450 or a Z400/450 (whenver it comes out).

Good luck,
Scott

Dont you think a 450r worked will whip a 250r worked if it already beats a 250r with a pipe and jet kit?

Depends on what your idea of "worked" is. With the right amount of money, you can make just about anything fast. Stock for stock, I don't think a 250r can hold a candle to a 450r, but when you get into adding parts, etc, it is anyone's game. JJ looked pretty good on a "worked" 250r in pro class last year. Of course, that was about as close to a 250r as Little E's Lumina is to one you would buy at a Chevy dealer.....
