getting to carb jets

I just bought a '97 300ex, and it is my first quad. I have read plenty of how-to's on re-jetting, and have decided that i need to move the needle one clip down. Unfortunately, i don't have a manual. How do i get to the jets in the carb. honestly, i don't even know where the carb is. thanx for your help.

If you really dont know where the carb is your probably better off just leaving the way it is. You dont want to tear your quad apart and not get it back together. Wait till you have more mechanical experience. Work on some old lawnmowers first.

go to the faq forum on this site and click on the link that talks about installing a k&n power kit. this takes you step by step on a 400ex. yours will be really similar.
