I've been seeing thumb throttle extender pegs around on the dunes and tried one out on my buddies' 440EX and was impressed! no more thumb strain! I was wondering where to get one of these handy things?? I've seen them in billet aluminum..I'd like to know who makes the billet ones and how much they are? If you have a site or # that would be great! I hope i'm making sense here, any info would be great! thanks.

I would start by calling C&Dracing and if they don't sell it dennis kirk sells one made by Moose for $19.95. the part # is 57-1256

You can get the plastic "thumb savers" at just about any ATV retailer for $15 or so.
The only billet ones I've seen are from Cascade. They are like $40 but I think so far they only make them for banshees, and they are very hard on your thumb, rubs it raw. They are more for blingin.

I rode my buddies Z400 with one called the "Thumb Saver". Man that thing was scary. When I would open it up, it would either hit my knuckles and not let you peg it, OR worse yet, it would get stuck under my knuckles and hold the throttle pegged 100%!!! Stay away from these things!

You could always do it the redneck way. Take an empty 12 16 or 20 gauge shot gun shell depends on how big you need it slip in on. Sure beats paying 15 bucks for something you could pick up in the woods.

Those thing are suiside! My dad installed one on his brand new utility quad, went to load it. While on the ramp, something shifted some, he went to grab on tight to the handle bars, and gave it full throttle instead.:eek2:

i have a twist throttle also, and i love it. scary at first. But most people dont give twist a chance on the quad. They'll install the twist and ride like 2 times then decide they dont like it.

I've been running twists on my quads since the 80's. It's the way to go. We do all day rides in PA (from the crack of dawn till it's dark - 120+ mi in a day). My friends are all crying about their thumbs near the end of the day. I just keep on twisting! No probs.....

I had a twist on my R but decided to go to a thumb throttle. I don't really hate either one. The twist is better for long distance rides and sharp right hand turns, I like the thumb better for riding over whoops and drag racing. I do get thumb fatigue when I haven't ridden for a while.
