Im bout to leave to possibly buy a new truck. Hopefully, they will give me a decent amount for my current truck. 96 regular cab dakota with a 4 banger. The new one is a black 2001 dakota with a 4.7 V8, 5 speed, power everything, keyless entry and more. Im gonna have some fun with that. I will post pics when i get back if i get it.

Yeah, why on earth get the v8 unless you just want to waste gas? The v6 should tow plenty of weight, and would save a bunch of money (initial cost, gas, insurance...).
Course I do admit, I wouldn't mind having one. It would be way too much fun pulling up to traffic lights next to ricers and such and just embarass them.:D

Go drive one man. You will see. I definitely didnt get one to tow with. I just got home with it. Here is a pic. Its already kinda dirty from my driveway and my friends road. Gonna clean it up nice tomorrow. Man, its freakin fast for a truck. Bad pic cuz its under the carport. Couldnt get a good angle.

I'll give you a heads up... the 4.7 V8 gets the same if not better gas mileage than the V6....
My buddy has the 4.7 in a 4 door sport 4x4 with an auto and gets 17-18mpg avg.
I would imagine the 5sp version regular cab 2x4 would get even better.... closer to 20+.

yea, those trucks arent all that light so that v6 has to work harder. It puts no strain on the v8 whatsoever. I know a lot of people who have that v6 and try to drive it like its an 8 so they waste a lot of gas. I will mainly use the truck to drive to college which is a whopping 10 miles, if that.
