I was burning some CDs... Evanescence "My Immortal" has to be one of the saddest songs I've heard in awhile... :( I put in Godsmack CD Faceless to pick me back up! Anyone else have songs they find to be sad? The Staind CD, Break The Cycle, while I really like it, can be very depressing...

Not really sad, but I think "F Her Gently" by Tenacious D is a really heart-felt, sensative song.

Eric Clapton- "Tears in Heaven"
Nazareth- "Love Hurts"
REM- "Everybody Hurts"
The Verve Pipe- "The Freshman"
Radiohead- "Creep"

...and in my estimation, the saddest song ever is Mazzy Star's "Fade into You".

hey, I'm older than you! I think racing against young kids keeps me young and with the latest music. But I still hate rap!! :grr:

And guy400, I forgot about Clapton's Tears in Heaven... very sad. Didn't he write that in honor of his kid that died? Hate hearing about bad things with kids. A buddy at work, his 5 year old grand daughter, looks like she has bone cancer... :(

the song Hurt that Johnny Cash did is originally by NIN, that has to be one of the best songs ever, I like it better by NIN since it's at a slower, more sad pace...

As soon as I clicked on this thread, The Verve Pipe - Freshman started playing...that was kinda weird:huh

A lot of these songs you people have listed I've heard and are pretty damn sad, the sad thing is I can relate to a lot of sad songs, especially Hurt and Hold On.

Sorry to get off topic here, back to the thread.
I learned never- ever listen to sad country songs when you're heartbroken. Them songs will take your heart, throw it on the floor and stomp that sucker flat.
Course they also make you want to drown your sorrows in beer, I guess that aint to bad of a thing.:macho

Hello Walls - Willie Nelson

Hello walls, (Hello, hello.)How'd things go for you today?Don't you miss her.Since she up and walked away? And I'll bet you dread to spend another lonely night with me,But lonely walls, I'll keep you company.

Hello window, (Hello, hello.)Well, I see that you're still here.Aren't you lonely,Since our darlin disappeared? Well look here, is that a teardrop in the corner of your pane? Now don't you try to tell me that's it's rain.

She went away and left us all alone the way she planned.Guess we'll have to learn to get along without her if we can.

Hello ceiling, (Hello, hello.) I'm gonna stare at you a while. You know I can't sleep,So won't you bear with me a while? We gotta all stick together or else I'll lose my mind. I gotta feelin' she'll be gone a long, long time.

:( :( :( :( :( :p

yes, the no talent hack that isnt smart enuff to come up with anymore original material past his 2nd album coverd "behind blue eyes"

well, audioslave's "i am the highway" just came on, i think that one counts in this thread

the saddest most depressing song i have ever heard is "wish i felt nothing" by the wallflowers on the bringing down the horse album.

Lynrd Skynrds "write it in a song" is also sad

They played Garth Brooks - The Dance at one of my friends funeral ... I swear there wasn't one dry eye out of all the 300 people that were there. Probably the time I fell in love with this song .

At another friends funeral they played Garth Brooks - Friends In Lower Places . That was another very touching song .

I can't really stand country music , but Garth Brooks has to be one of the most talented musicians out there .

It's country, but Brooks and Dunn "The Long Goodbye" always made me sad. Keith Urban's new song is pretty sad too. It's you'll think of me or something like that.
