I hate to say it becaue I try to see our sport as a friendly sport but, I would either make him pay, or whoop his *****, or maybe both for the headache he caused.

ReconRider25
03-08-2004, 04:02 PM
^^^^both. but make him pay first.:blah:

Hurt him in the pocket. If he won't pay you NOW, bring him to court and make him pay you there...after that then I say you beat his *** for refusing to pay for the damages HE made to YOUR quad...

03-08-2004, 04:09 PM

03-08-2004, 04:20 PM
If you can't do it then, have you brother beat his ***...that's really pathetic that a 23 year old kid is riding a 15 year old kid's quad, then refuses to pay for the damage he did to it. Basically, he's picking on you...take the ***got to court...

400exrider555
03-08-2004, 04:23 PM
my bro wont kick his best friends ***.......but im just gunna ziptie the plastics for now and the tire............ill do sumtin..........ill get a pic on of the plastics to show you guys.........i dont even think i cud have broke them that much

2001400ex
03-08-2004, 04:26 PM
That's preety pathetic this kid won't pay for it...good luck getting the money then for it...OEM plastics are preety expensive I think, so I would just go with aftermarket ones, if you have a 400 that is...

RoadkillerRyan
03-08-2004, 04:34 PM
man that sucks, i would just take somthing from his car when he comes over sometime or somthing maybe money if he left it in there, but i woudnt take him to court over a broken plastic

to be honest, your brother seems like a real ***... If one of my friends rode my younger brothers quad, then trashed it and refused to pay, my buddy would have more things to worry about than just money he owes...

Yeah, you should make him pay. Hahaha I'll say something my mom always says. He may be old but his mom will probably still kick his a**. I don't like riding peoples stuff and when I do, I am almost a completely different rider from when I am on my stuff. Then the only people I let ride my stuff is family or VERY close friends who will pay and I always stay with them. I never let anyone touch my stuff let alone ride it unless I am right there...Later

Well for one thing, what did your parents say about it?

I would have to agree with some of the other people, I would call that guy and tell him he better pay up, or he will regret it. Then if he doesn't take a baseball bat to his knees. Doesn't matter how much bigger he is than you if he can't walk. Break some windows in his car or something.

I realized that after my buddy lent out his raptor to a "friend" that I won't ever lend out my YFZ . The Raptor was lent out ... being only 4 months old . This guy hit a huge downhill jump at the local track , endoed , flipped 5 times and did 6 grand ( canadian) damage to the quad . Rule #1 dont lend your chit to people . Rule #2 people you think are your friends can be a-holes and not pay for the 6Gs damage . Rule #3 ... if you dont pay up .... you get a few broken bones :blah:

03-08-2004, 09:24 PM
Mofos right. I doubt you'll ever see any cash and the guy sounds like a real jerk. Also that was nice of your bro to give you 50.
This isnt the end of the world. Ive had similar happen to me. Get a tire, patch the plastic up and dont let anyone ride it.

turnandburn
03-08-2004, 09:35 PM
sorry to hear that, you just learened the hard way dont let people you dont know ride your stuff or borrow it. i only let my buddies ride mine when we are out togheter and if they break something ill take it off their quad till mine is fixed.their are always ways to get even without him even knowing.mom we are out of sugar:devil:

i dont lend my **** to anyone, unless i get to ride there bike, and if there good friends i know they will pay up, and wouldnt do anything to intential hurt my bike in the first place

Toadz400
03-08-2004, 10:10 PM
The obvious thing to do is to damage something of his that is the same value as your tire and plastics. Say his car windshield and side windows? That can get pretty expensive. Make sure to have protection after that though, the guy might want to kick your ***** for it...oh well, what else were bats made for?:D

kamikaze_rzrbak
03-08-2004, 10:21 PM
im so sick of people just saying oh well they broke something of mine im going to pay for it myself and forget about it, damn, just man up and do the American thing to do, sue him for everything he's got:devil: dont break anything of his because you will probably get more things broken then just your quad, let the law handle it and get your self some nice and shiny plastics

dbsbl1
03-08-2004, 11:52 PM
Your bro is a d*ckhead. I'd shove the plastic up your brother's ying yang with that 50 attached to it. Like someone else said, if a friend, especially someone I considered at best friend, messed up my little bro's quad and refused to pay he would have more to worry about than a quad to fix. And won't your parents do anything? My dad would beat my *** if I did this to my brother.:huh

400exrider555

my parents said since i let him use it i gotta pay.......so they wont help this time

03-09-2004, 11:58 AM
Your brother should step up in my opinion. If he asked to let this guy borrow it then it is his responsibility as well as the guy riding it. $50 isn't enough ask him what he would do if one of your friends borrowed his quad and brought it back all busted up. And the guy that wreck seems pretty much like a loser telling a 15 yr old you have 2 jobs pay for it yourself. He has one coming to him. :grr:

I have borrowed quads from my dad for a few friend. I know if something happens to them it will be paid for before I give the quad back. Either by me or the person that tore it up.:macho

the guy that crashed ur 400 is a ****head for not giving you ne money to fix it.
next time he's over hangin with your bro, go play catch with a friend and *accidentally* throw it over your friends head and hit his car putting a big dent in the side pannel... accidentally...
then tell him he shouldn't have parked there and you're not going to give him any money:devil:

I didnt notice that your brother asked you if his friend could ride it.
Since he did, he is the one responsible for repairs.

03-09-2004, 05:10 PM
i dont even let someone drive my quad even when im on it with them. everytiime i let someone ride it, they hit a tree and bend up my mud grill or run it into a fence and cut the bake lines.

The 23 yr. old sounds like a girl if you ask me. Borrows your quad, and screws it up and cant even pay for the damage that he did to it, he cant stand up like a man and take responsibility for his actions. Have you tried calling the kid up and reasoning with him? Or is that outta the question? Are they your front or rear plastics? If there your front and not bad, maybe you can race cut them? lol

Damaging his property will only get you into trouble. I think your brother should cough up the dough for the repairs then have his socalled buddy pay him back. I have been in a similar situation before and I ended up spending $1100 to fix it and the people who did it wouldn't even admit they did it. No matter how good of friends you are with someone never let them ride your chit. You can really find out what your friendship is worth when you hand a socalled friend a bill for the damage he did. Even if this loser never pays I would make it my life goal to make sure everyone knows about it and keep bringing it up. Maybe this little girl will grow a pair and do the right thing, but probly not. Live and learn........

Well at least it something to help you out, and that some of human nature is showing in a good way. I can't help but mention this as I feel stupid about it but, last winter a good friend invites me to go snowmobiling. I go and of course crack up a really cherry 600 vmax by sliding into the backend of another sled. Those circumstances will remain undisclosed so I don't sound like a whiner, anyway. That crap is exspensive! So we discussed it I paid for 90% of it and moved on. Creedo "you wreck it, you buy it":(

one time I let xr50layke ride my quad and we were mud bogging and he hit a tree with the left tire(it skimmed the tree) and flipped it over on top of us. we laughed at first but then we realized that water was getting into the pipe, so we worked the winch through the grill, under and through the left floor board and tied the end to a tree then winched my AC back onto the trail.  it was a fun day all in all!! i will ride again...

I don't know how your state is about it, But here in Wash. I would take it to small claims court. You're not out any lawyer fees, and they actually handle things quite well. I got $$$ out of some little sh*ts that stole my ATC250SX when it was about 2 years old. Might be worth looking into.
