I need to get rust off of my axle without tearing up the threads that are on the axle. It isnt really rust its just a rust type discoloring. I need to clean it up but i dont want to strip the threads Any suggestions?

Thanks

Get a dremal or a Regular 90* drill and put a wire brush on there....most easy and fast way.

get some naval jelly:o apply it and after a short while, wipe it off. it may take a few applications but it works. if you use a wire wheel it will rust even worse;)

I haven't thought of that stuff for a long time, use to go to the old Western Auto store as a kid and use it on all our stuff. Just reminiscing:eek:
