this bike was my pride and joy. unfortunately, it must go.

i bought the bike 2/7/04 from a friend of mine. he needed to get rid of it, so i took it off his hands.

since then, i have spent a good amount of time and money fixing it up piece by piece.

As far as I know, I am the 3rd owner. There is no paperwork.

with the exception of the motor, everything is original.

the motor is a brand new crate motor. it does NOT run at the moment (needs to be re-wired), but the previous owner said that he did start it before and ran it for 15 mins.

everything else motor-related is new. the coil, wiring harness, engine, intake manifold, carb, etc etc is all brand new with either very little or no use on it.it still needs an air filter, which I am in the process of buying.

the intake manifold that came with the bike was too long, so i ordered a OEM XR50 manifold.

the bike had no wiring harness when i bought it (previous owner used a harness off a cr80), so i bought a brand new one for a XR50. like i said, it hasn't been installed yet because come of the connectors are missing crimps. i should have the bike wired within the next week or so.

everything is in relatively good shape, bike is pretty clean. the plastics are a bit scuffed up, and the tires are pretty worn (still useable, but they could use replacing).

The frame is straight, and is clean, but there is some minor rusting going on on the lower frame rails, as well as the kickstand area. It is very light, and could be easily painted over or sanded.

Most of the bike is painted black, including swingarm, gas tank, and the frame. The previous owner did this, and let’s just say he didn’t pull off a Pappy-caliber job, so if you’re anal about this sort of thing, you may want to get it sandblasted and repainted. Other than a minor dent in the gas tank (DOES NOT LEAK, does not effect functionality of the tank), and 2 missing number plates (sides are missing, front plate is still there) that is it in terms of cosmetic problems.

*EDIT* .THIS BIKE HAS TO GO ASAP .I NEED THE MONEY REAL BAD. FIRST PERSON THAT CAN GET 300+ TO ME TAKES IT, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

If you are interested in it, please pm me, or im me on AOL/AIM at rh027.

I would prefer to deal with someone in the northeast. If you are out of the area, you must arrange shipping or to pick it up. Depending on the distance, I may or may not be able drive it to you personally

i'm sorry, i cannot go that low.

just so you know, the engine alone is worth 300. i'm already taking a big loss.

the year is either '02 or '03. i don't know the name of the brand, but there is a guy on ebay who sells these motors. that's how i got mine. everything is up to Honda specs, parts are interchangable, etc etc. the only thing that is different is that there is a starter motor in case you wanted to make the bike electric start. because i could never fit a air filter in there, i yanked out the starter motor (i am currently getting a metal plate fabricated so i can cover the hole that is now exposed). this is also why i purchased a new intake manifold, because the old one was too long. if you buy the bike as-is, the plate will be included and installed.

yes, it is a xr50 crate motor. just so you know, the xr50/crf50 motors are exactly the same. the last change i know of is they added or changed bearings somewhere in the motor a few years back.

because it is a crate motor, it means it doesn't have Honda written on the casings. but i assure you, the specs and quality are identical.

the bike is still available, it is at Trapani Race Setups getting the following parts.

- CDI for a XR50
- bar clamps
- crimps/ electrical connectors soldered on
- some bolts it was previously missing
- throttle cable being re-routed
- re-wiring
- UNI air filter
- custom fabricated aluminum block-off plate

BMX bars will also be coming for it soon, and i believe after that, it will be both running, and ridable.
