I'm really leaning towards getting a HMF Full-system for my 400ex but I realized that a Yoshimura Full-system is gonna be around the same exact price. Do you guys know which one is better? Or do you have suggestions for another pipe around the same price?

i think hmf is gonna be better

I'm sure both of those systems are good but I would go with a Sparks or LRD. I have the LRD ceramic full system and it gave me huge power gains when my 400 was stock and even more power when I got my motor work. I heard Sparks was just as good or better than the LRD. Just my .02

i would say go with the HMF, (NOT LRD), sparks, or duncan's fat boy 4!

One question 400ex#18 why do you say to not go with the LRD. I've used several different pipes and nothing puts out power like LRD besides the Sparks.

I use alot of the HMF pipes along with the sparks and lrd all of which are great pipes. I do not like the yoshi pipes they fall apart and I have not been happy with there power out put.

Just from experience, and everyone that i ride with, and a lot of people i have raced with have had problems with it. When you first get it and run it, it sounds looks, and feels great. I do have to give them that. But once ridden for more than about 4 months, everyone i really know that has had them, has had theirs start falling apart, or the packing would blow out. and just ramdom things such as that. Besides that, IMO they are prolly in the top 2 for pipes. They just need to work on their construction of them.

LRD does make good power. But they do start falling apart after a few months. I would stay away from LRD. My packing came out. And it started to rust from the inside. The piece that holds the packing in broke. Very poor work on there part.:(

There was a pipe shootout posted awhile back . Try finding it and I think the Sparks beats em all.

I think Pro Circuit is the best. I gives super hp gains but it's reallllllly loud! I have the T-4 pipe on my 400ex right now but I'm getting a Ti-4 and header soon. Then it'll rip!!!

Colby@C&Dracing, since you have used all 3 of of those pipes, which delivers the best mid to top end power on a stock ex with a k&n, no air box, im looking for a pipe to help me in the dunes

I have used a Pro Circuit T-4 also, that was the first system I ever had on my 400. It did very little in the way of power gains. It would be an o.k pipe for somebody looking for something reasonable price wise but definitly not the best.

White Bros. w/ sparks header is good.

I've had an LRD Full System (a lot of problems getting it to mount properly) it scored my cylinder where it attached & also didn't seal well!! Great power gains though on a stock motor once the problem was corrected!!) Had a white brothers e-series w/ stock headpipe; it was ok power wise in stock form, held up well! Then I tried a sparks slip on with stock header; VERY NICE ALL AROUND!!! But the best pipe out there for a modified 400ex is a stock header with a TC RACING slip on!!! No pipe out there gives you the gains for MX style power (Low/Midrange)!!! VERY LOUD THOUGH!!!! I guess it depends on what improvements to the motor you're going to make!!
