I have been thinking about getting some nerfs. Probably the main reason i have not bought any up to this point is.

My feet seem to allways stay on the pegs. (Lucky I guess)

I ride in the mountains most of the time and climb hills and what not. Sometimes I need to put the feet down to push back on a narrow trail.
My buddies wife had a large stick get lodged in under the nerf and caused the quad to flip. ( (Maybe a once in a life time thing though)

I don't race MX

For the people that have them and ride the woods. Do you like them ?

Also I am looking at the new AC propegs with heal guards. E bay 187.00 Is that a good price.

Or the standard AC that bolt to the stock pegs.

Any others to look at. How about the Arenas Bros. ?

Thanks for the replys.

If you don't do any jumping or racing, then I don't think you'll need them. When racing or jumping the nerfs protect your feet and legs from other quads running into you and if you ever slip off the foot peg during a jump then your in for alot of pain ;) if your just trial ridding you should be fine without them.

Imo I really like them for trail ridin, just mainly because it keeps trees and stuff from gettin in there if your slidin around a corner and get wide or somethin. I am just use to them and like them thats just me though.

I do a little jumping, but mainly trail riding, and mine have saved me a few times from trees and stuff, and also my feet slipping off. I also think they add a really nice look to the 400, and the pro pegs on e-bay for $180 is a good deal. I believe the AC website wants $290:eek2:

I only ride trails and I love them. To me it just gives the quad a much better all around feel

def yes... i've seen way to many broken legs bc of peoples feet slipping off the peg and gettin sucked under the pegs...

u learn how to back up even with nerfs on the quad... i ride trails no problem with mine...

also it'll keep trees from comin inbetween the tire and bending ur axle or rim or hittin ur leg...

Wouldn't ride without them.My feet seem to stay on the pegs as well but the added confidence you gain from knowing that someone elses tire wont come in on you is a plus also helps me weave through tight trees. You won't be dissapointed.

I'll always have them now. I got a cheap steel pair from the junkyard for $20 and welded them to the footpegs and frame. In the winter my pegs gets frozen over, like standing on ice. My feet slip all the time and I'm glad I have them. I race Harescrambles and ride tight trails. The nerfs really help when you get in tight. I've bounced off many trees that could have done some serious damage to the axle. I feel like that alone lets me make up time in the woods.

I have nerf bars and I know that there have been a few times that I was really thankful to have them. I'd say get them b/c there will always be just one time that you will wish that you had them.

I have nerfs for when I am racing mx but they still have saved me many times when riding trails. It's like this past weekend,...I rode my dads Banshee and the first thing that happend was my foot got ran over by the rear wheel. I am lucky I had my motocross boots on!:eek2:

Get nerds, but no the Ac's, get some that have a steel foot peg instead. I think X-factor or someone makes em.

Mine took a hit hard enough to bend the peg with only a minor bend in the nerf. Easily straightened and hardly noticable.:)
