I think I need a new clutch and cable. The lever has a very stiff pull and you can feel the cable dragging inside the rubber. Also, it slips a little in 4th and 5th. Do I have to repalce the basket and pressure plate or just the clutch plates themselves?

Thanks,
Joey

Take the clutch apart and look at the basket and pressure plate. They might be fine. I just had mine done, and he said all the other stuff looked good, and just put in the Sparks 8 plate setup. I also picked up just a new stock Honda cable.

Replace the cable first. Then look into the sparks 8plate it is a great clutch kit.:)

my names joey and urz is too some ima give u some good advice. Get a cable first its only about 10-15 bux. u'll get a new one anyway if u get a clutch kit. Now if it still sucks get the 8 plate clutch kit like rico posted it will get all of ur power to the ground and if u upgrade the motor ur still good. But before u buy a clutch kit take ur fibers and plates out and skuff the plates up on some concrete and se if that helps.
