i am going to be getting my motor built this week and i want to know if i should go with 11:1 or 10.8:1, will the 11:1 make me have to run race gas? and i will have a TC 926 cam, so will 10.8:1 even have the cam do anything?

thanks for the help

I have to run 50/50. It runs hot on premium and detinates just a little.

ok but will the 10.8:1 make it so the cam don't do much?

The compression of the piston does not have anything to do with the cam. The cam has a different job than the piston. The higher comp piston along with the cam will make a better difference in overall power than a lower comp piston.

race gas is a good thing.i would run it if i was you and i do run it 0n my 11-1 piston.some people say 50/50 mix but i say full race gas.110 runs 4 bucks here and a quad does not use that much gas.just my .02

I would run 50/50 mix with 11-1 to get the most power. Premium is borderline and not worth the risk of predetonation, also makes less power than 50/50 mix. You don't need to run full 110 race gas because that is way more octane than you need. Realistically you probably only need about 98-100 octane for your 11-1 piston. With the 10.8-1 I think you would be alright with premium fuel.

you are right but in my area i cannot get anything but 110.you either buy 93 or jump to 110 and go up from there.

I have to run race gas in my R, so I took a resume to the lokal gas store. Not like Texaco, but a oil spot or whatever you would call it, and they sponsored me a 55 gal. drum of race fuel, and mix, I recomend this to anyone! Make a resume, its worth a shot!

50/50 sounds good man! Jees already doin stuff to ur ex!?!:eek2: :D Havr to go to the dunes soon!

I wanted to go with a 10:8.1 piston this summer(416) and I was looking at the gas pump the other day and noticed that premium is only 90:huh So I asked around and I guess that is the highest I can get around here w/o running race fuel. Would this be fine for this compression, or should I get teh 11:1, say screw it and run 50/50 race fuel???
