you just need to be 100% sure your rich on the idle circuit and not the needle or main circuit. if your sure, you need to look at the very bottom of the carb. facing vertically on the bottom of the carb you will see a little bronze color skrew. you will adjust it with a flat blade skrew driver. you will want to turn this skrew in some to lean it out. this is like a fine tune adjustment for the idle circuit/pilot jet.

what is the temp your riding in and what is your altitude? you running the air box lid on?

usually around 2 or 2.5 turns out is good.

I'm in West Virginia the temp right now is about 65 and the altitude according to my GPS is anywhere from 950 ft to 1200 ft...

how do you get a screw driver into that little space to turn the mixture screw? or do you take the carb off and turn it upside down?

I just use a 2" long screw bit out of a cordless screw driver.

thats also how I change my main jet w/ carb on bike. 1/4 wrench fits the bit for extra torque ;)

it will probably be easier for you to remove the carb the first time. this way you know how many turns your going out. if your trying to squeeze a little skrewdriver down there it will be tough to figure out how many turns out your going. i use a skrewdriver instead, but i also know how many turns out i am before i tinker with it.
