I have a 2000 300ex and instead of putting regular aftermarket +2 a-arms, could I put some 400ex aftermarket +2 a-arms to make it Extra wide in the front.

And if this is possible, I would Like to put some Elka triple rate shocks with piggybacks for 400ex +2 a-arms, but do I have to have the special mounting brackets to put these shocks on the front.

yea you could do that, but you can buy the shock relocator...i think 01_300ex is selling one,im not sure how much tho,PM him and ask,but you will have to get custom length shocks i think,or just use +2 shocks, anyway it will work

Your best bet is to stick with a arms made for the 300ex. The 400ex conversion does not work well. I had the setup on mine and I have changed to Burgards made for the 300. You can use the shockmount bracket with the 300ex aftermarket a arms and 400ex length shocks but you will have to have them revalved to work properly with the setup.

For more info on the subject try a search. Jeff@TheQuadshop and others have tried to explainn why the 400ex front end does not work well on the 300ex. Hope this helps.
