I was wondering how +2 a-arms are built. What I mean is are they two inches longer overall but the mount is still the same length away from the top mounst or are the mounts on the a-arm moved two inches out? I was wondering because I could have them built for a lot less than buying new ones.

I'm not shure of what your asking. I know you want to know how to build them, but be more specific on your question.

Is the shock mount on the a a-arm moved out 2 inches further from the frame or is the a-arm just two inces longer.

Both. The a-arm is longer, but the shock mount is moved out also.
I THINK!

I know on long travel a-arms the shock mount is moved out.

on standard +2 arms the arms are longer and the shock mount stays the same ... thats why there standard .. you use standard length shocks ...
long-travel a-arms have the shock-mount moved out ... having you use long travel a-arms ...
you may get them made for cheeper ... but in the long run it'd be way better to spend the money and do it right ...
