does anyone know where i can get some new plastics for my 2001 400ex in black:devil

i have a 2002 yellow 300ex with new black plastics on it. Got them rockymountainatv.com I love them. I also saw them for a 400ex

i want race cut plastics but with headlight mounts am i dreaming ? maybe even stock cut and i'll cut the fenders but i have to have headlight mounts

i believe maier makes plastic for the 400 that uses the headlights....i've seen blue and green like this, so i'm pretty sure they make black also.

you will be able to see every tiny lil scratch on black plastic. unless your a dune rider, you wont have that problem

thats tru cron-ex but i wouldnt think that you would be able to see the scratches because the plastic is black all the way thru not like on a car where the primer is under the paint . what is everyone elses thoughts

I've got black plastic and what he says is true, you see every little scratch on it, and it fades kinda bad as well. I would recommend another color unless you wanna spend a lot of tiem with plastic renew, or dont care much about scratches!

Hey DOD Racing I do have pics but no scanner. Sorry, but yeah they are right about seeing very little scratch and my are new.

on the other hand some people think scratches add character.

Actually I do, I remove them from time to time. I run a Ricky Stator Baja 2 Kit with Dual 100 watt halogens. I am about to upgrade to H.I.D.'s. I will snap a pic later tonight and post it tonight.

this is black maier on my R ive had it for a year now, i ride that bike alot and i think the plastic is in awsome shape. if you dont crash then you have nothing to worry about.

i think white and even yellow plastic will show way more scratches then black. the yellow plastic on my 400 is about a year and a half old, i dont ride that bike as much as my r and it shows more scratches.

Those headlights make that amazing quad look like a BUG! but i imagine those babys are bright !!!!!!

Where did you get that starter switch at i got different plastic also and didnt need the lights so i was just going to get a dirtbike one like that. How much did it cost and was it hard to hook up? Thanks

Heres a pic of my 400 with my plastic i just got maier so i didnt have to worry about scrtching the 500 fullbore when i ride.

I just use a dirt bike kill switch...works well.

It is the same price as the regular plastic. It looks really good in person, the only thing is that you have to drill your own holes on the front plastic, but it is easy if you take your time.
