is it just me or do the tie rods weak on the 450R, i ran the Gilmer GNCC and came home and both were bent, i didnt hit any trees but did hit everysingel freakin rock on that place, after i straitened them i went to a rough mx track and i bent the left one again, but this coulda been cause it had already been bent and is now getting weak. If you just look at the tie rods their about as big around as a pencil. anyway anybody else havin any problems?

yeah i bent one in a race and dont remember hittin anything. my 2 cents on them are they are weaker then 400ex tie rods but the reason is they are about 2" longer then the 400's i took me a week and a half for my dealer to get me new ones but at least they are pretty cheap. $14.95

i've bent just about every tie rod on the market and i've never broke any other front end parts so i dont mind. gotta be a weak link somewhere.

Never, ever, straighten tie rods and expect them to do anything but bend the next time you ride.

Stock tie rods are less than $10 if memory serves me right, from Servicehonda. They are very similar to a 400EX tie rod, which are strong enough to resist normal hits, but weak enough to prevent parts (or wrist) breakage when you hit something hard.

Stick with stock unless you are running aftermarket arms. I stock several in my garage and truck because they're so cheap - luckily I rarely have to use them :)
