Anyone ever cut their silencer? Pros/cons? Do you have to rejet?

My friend cut his T-4 and didn't need to rejet.

I wonder, if no rejet is needed, does shortening the silencer actually do anything? :huh

shortening it makes it louder, and keeps it outta harms way....ive got a shortend' pro circuit t-4, go look at my thread that says "my recent 400ex pic" and look at my exhaust

it doesn't do jack for power, maybe on a dyno but you sure ain't goin to feel it, i did my first silencer the only pros is i won't get damaged as easy if you get rearended or flip the bike over, cons makes it quite a bit louder, and no you won't have to rejet, its really not doin anthing to the motor
