My buddy finally got his four fiddy r this morning. He bought Renthal bars and twist throttle. He was wondering, where did you guys relocate your key and temp light as well as adding a tether? I know you can just junk the key, but he kinda wants to keep it on there somewhere.

I was thinking that maybe on the right side (transmission side with kick start). You could mount it to the botton fender mount... Maybe...

yeah that would look sick if you were to put it by the kick start in the fender. But then it might get in the way....

i bought a handle bar clamp that allows you to relocate the key on it and it also has a place for the prodesign kill switch. you look at my pics (jeremy's R). i have a pic of it. TMM makes the piece. it ran 50 bucks. it gives you a place to mount the key and kill switch.

anybody that put theirs in the plastic somewhere? or maybe made a little bracket and fastened it to the frame or handlebar clamp?

I have a set of 400ex Renthal bend on my 450R and was able to keep the stock plastic key holder/light underneath the crossbar pad. To keep the plastic holder in place I drilled the bottom of the holder (where the gas tank breather hose pushes thru to the steering stem) and used a tie strap and tied the holder down to the steering stem. You can't even see the tie strap unless you rubber-neck and look up from the ground. You might have to loosen the crossbar an bit a raise a little to accomadate the plastic key holder underneath.

hope this helps

Just make a plate out of aluminum or plastic, drill the required holes and attach it to the handlebar clamp. It's easy.

Hey, btw where can I find a twist throttle for the 450 right now? I am dying for one.. I took it out yesterday to Dumont and it's extremely uncomfortable for me.

Go to www.roxspeedfx.com they make an aluminum dash panel for the 450R and handle bar risers. They are really sweet.
