Can it hurt a 4stroke to put a 2 stroke pipe on it???.......One of my friends put his old yz250 silencer on his XR 80, it sounded badass but it wont run now.....could the silencer have messed up the valves or something??

I've never heard of anyone putting a 2 strole pipe on a 4 stroke. I dont see how it could hurt it, but i agree I doubt it will run with it.

No, it wont hurt the engine, it just wont run worth a crap.
I dont think hes stupid at all, sounds like he likes to make things
better. Where would we be if people had not improved on inventions over the years?
Years back, I had a go cart with a 5 horse briggs on it. The block exhaust port is threaded same as a water pipe. I screwed a 2 foot water pipe in, then screwed a water spigot onto that.
Cut down the power, but looked cool as h*** crusing down the road. I got alot of funny looks.:D

My buddy ruined his silencer off his mojave, so he bolted up the silencer off his yz250 and ran all day. All it did was make it super loud and it also blew all the packing out of the pipe.

Whoops, my bad. I thought he meant the head pipe. I would think it would just cut down the power some. It might richen it up and foul the plug too. I dont see where a 250cc 2- stroke silencer is going to make a big difference on a 80cc 4-stroke though.
There really is not much of a difference between a 4-stroke straight through silencer and a 2-stroke silencer other than size. Correct me if i'm wrong here.

Well, the 2-stroke pipe isn't his problem with starting. It may have caused problems, like fouling the plug, but taking the pipe off won't fix it.

Tell him to take the pipe off, and change the spark plug.
