View Full Version : Custom Fabrication - Diamond Plate

I custom fabricated some diamond plate to fit over my warning labels. I used a die grinder to cut it all down to shape, then I bent it for the curves, and then rivetted it on. It is one piece. let me know what you think

:macho me likey. where can i get some diamond plate? do you think theyd have it at a local hardware store?

I dunno where you can get it.

I got mine for free from some friends, but maybe like home depot

Hey Recon, if you try to buy it at the local hardware store, it is big bucks! Do you have a scrap metal place in your town? Thats where I get the small pieces that I use.... you'll actually be suprised what I find there. Almost whole sheets sometimes. I think theres a "midnight" :cool: <---- bandit metal supply somewhere. Anyway, in Memphis, at the scrap yard, its a $1.00 a pound. :D

true value has it but they are overpriced

I went to a local metal frabrication shop the other day. For a 4'x8' dimond plate sheet they wanted $280 and for a 3"x8"x7' steel beem 1/8th inch thick, they wanted $150:eek2: I think I'll check the local scrap yard next.

Lowe's and Home Depot should have small pieces(12"x24"). Atleast they do around here.

u can pick up pieces from around substartions if u ride powerlines there is usually some scrap around them!
