What do you 250r owners think is the best oil for the bottom end. I read in the repair manual to just run 10-40 motor oil, right now i think it has golden spectrum 85W in it. My friend runs gear saver 80 or 85w. What do you guys think?

I change my oil alot and if you dont mind the extra maintnance automatic transmission fluid is the best thing to use you just need to change it a little more often.

I rode a 250R for a few years and i would have to say Honda trans oil plus is the best thing for any 2 stroke tranny.

:) I run REDLINE superlight weight shock proof gear oil in my 350 power valve engine barnett clutch in it. clings to everything in the engine. never had a clutch slip while using it.:p

this probably isn't the best hehe but we run Castrol 10-40 or 50w in our blaster bottom end & havne't had any problems. I know it's probably not the best but she's a leaker so it sucks to have to buy expensive oil.

yeah i run good dexcon-mercon3 i think thats how ya spell it.........seems good and it doesnt take a whole moto for the engine to really lube the gearbox as thats the problem with running super thick oils is that wne they are 1st started up turning through that thick of oil along with circulating it really takes it toll on the engine..........i really like running a little bit thinner stuff but replacing it frequently (as in every weekend);)
