Which one works better sand paper and clearcoat or PC plastic renew?

I've heard alot of bad things about PC plastic renew about how it comes off and cracks but im selling my 400 and want the plastics to look good. I've also never really heard anything bad about clearcoating and sand paper I just dont know what grit to use, the steps in doing it, and how well it works.

I started w/ 1200 grit & finished w/ 600 I think then clearcoated they look alot better than the deep gouges it had when I got it. I also used an electric palm sander. Good luck take your time & it will look good!!! Aniother thing you may want to try is after sanding it use the Krylon Fusion plastic paint then clear coat, I didn't do that cuz I couldn't find the paint until I was all finished of course  I did spray some on my fenders that I cut off & it seemed to work pretty good, I bent them too just to see.

Well yeah it does, but once you wipe it off w/ lacquer thinner & spray the clear coat it's all good!!!!:)

Thanks dirtmomma but just to be sure on the parts on your plastics where there arent any scratches you can just spray the clearcoat and not sandpaper right? Do you wet sand or dry sand? Do you recomend a certain type of lacquer thinner? Also arent you supposed to go from a lower grit to a higher grit?

OOPPSS:o yep on the grit sorry hehehe, & as far as the not sanding all of it, it might not match up quite right, I just did all of mine because of that! Just regular ol paint thinner just so it's clean & grease free.

what kind of clear coat are u using?
the fusion clear or something different?

i have used the fusion and it worked ok but something i found out later is the fusion does not bond to its self well, another words the furion paint wont bond to fudsion paint so u have to paint it one thick coat, u cantdo it like spray paint a lot of thin coats will look like *****

Was anyones scratches this bad:

The rest of the plastics aren't like this and are ok, there's just a little scuff part on the front nose piece.

Alright sounds good this weekend I'll wet sand my entire plastics, apply lacquer thinner, put on this stuff called bulldog I found in this other thread http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47061&perpage=15&highlight=clear%20coat%20plastics&pagenumber=1 , and finally put on the clear coat.
