cr500 motor in a 400 ex

I recently found a 87 cr500 for a couple of hundred bucks. its complete and running. I was curous if any body seen or put this or a 250 motor in a 400 ,,, thanks dave

Anything is possible but it's not recommended because the engine lacks a counter balance. There was a post about someone putting a CR500 head on a 250R tranny but I can't imagine it's easy or cheap.

DO NOT PUT A CR500 OR CR250 MOTOR IN YOUR 400EX FRAME!!!! It will vibrate all the fillings out of your teeths and crack all the welds on the frame. These dirt bike motors lack counterbalances so they will VIBBBBBBBBBBBBBRATE alot!

ask trx465...he would know, he has a 250r frame w/ a cr500 motor in it

put a quad 500 motor in it, like an lt50o motor.
