alright,i just told my dad that at the end of the summer i want to sell my 300 and buy a 400,but he was like was like ehh,im not so sure about it,i don't want to go through what you did to me with this quad(meaning the 300).So what should i tell him to convince him to let me buy it,i know i posted about this before,but this time i actually think he was serious....and if he still says no,time to beg..but yea,what some things i could tell him,and no flaming me for this:o

wow that is right around what i will make in the summer,plus when i sell the 300(if)there is another 2-3 grand:D

just say that the 300 is getting a little small and you want to go faster

yes i know it is,but the thing is he isn't one of the "quading" people so to speak.I bugged him so much to take my to my local dealer because this was my first sport quad and i wanted to see what i can mod,but he is like yeah right keep dreaming,and i'm not going through what i did with your other one,idk,i just say iight watch you'll see a nice 400ex one day in the garage just to intaganize(sp) him a lil more...lol but yes i will get it even if i have to do it without him knowing:eek2: ,but i will be in trouble o well

my dad isnt big into quads either..he loves it but not like me. He will support me and take me to races and everything as long as i pay for my quads and chit..

just tell him you will buy everything..sign a contract between you two saying he wont have to buy you anything;)

yea.i do actually,and that is a good idea about signing a agreement,i've also been looking at the kfx400:D ...ill post some pix later

i am going through the same problem
i am 14 and the 300 just isnt enough for me anymore
the bad thing is my dad is a service manager at a very large
honda dealership but he still wants me to keep my little 300
i raced this past fall and i will not do another race on my 300ex
bc i think it is too small and slow etc for me
i keep modding it but no matter what i still think i need something
bigger

i hope your dad realizes that you need a 400 jjust like in my case

yea man im with you,he isn't really to big into quads like i said,but i think imma do some kinda contract with him or soemthing where he doesn't have to buy me anything,i have to do all of it.:eek2: ...thats alot of dough for a 15 year old....although alot of you say don't buy new,i think imma go buy a kfx 400....i fell in love with that thing...still might be looking at a 400 to.But again does anybody have a z-400 or kfx400?

I would keep the 300 and mod it if i were you....it is the only legal thing you can race in AMA events.....you should race the youth production class(13-15). Allows 200cc two-stroke or 300cc 4-stroke...

considering your 14 you wont be able to race any bigger in AMA events!...its up to you though man...

i thought about that a lot but i can still race at my local track on anything even though im not 16 and their are only like 5 ama races a year within 2 hours
on the other hand if i had a 250x like you roostin-dale i wouldnt
even think about getting another bike
if othing works out i will keep modding my 300ex and make it a lot more race-ready but i would much rather get something bigger
