Not to bash on you 416, but I am wondering why all these people are buying YFZ's left and right...everyone always said that when you put the CRF engine in the 400EX frame it was badass, now Honda has done that for you people, and everyone is going out and buying YFZ's like there's no tommorrow? The 450R just came out not that long ago, how do you know which is best for you? Don't get me wrong here, I think the YFZ looks nice and obvioussly it has the power to back up the looks, but can't some people give the 450R a chance? - This is not directed towards you in any way 416 - I've just seen a trend around here in people buying YFZ's since someone else did...and I am not a Honda only fan, if it came down to the YFZ and the 450R I would test drive each, if the YFZ felt better for me, I would buy it...and same goes for the 450R.

Oh yeah; congrats on the ride:p

It seems to me that he races MX, which the YFZ seems better suited for compared to a stock 450R.

the number one reason i bought a YFZ was because they were in stock... you guys are paying retail +++ for the TRX450 just because there are so few of them dealers can charge more... i was gonna buy a quad today and did not want to wait 2 months for a TRX.. another reason i did not buy a TRX is because i have a CRF450 in a quad frame, whay would i want another?? i wanted to give yamaha a chance. if i dont like it, i will sell it. geez its not like i married it..

Wouldn't a 450R be better for MX, since it has alot more torque compared to the YFZ, so you can get better holeshots, and more pull out of turns?:confused:

Unless the 450R does not handle as well around tight turns, I don't know the stats on that...

I didn't know that you have a CRF in a frame. You're right about the 450's because there is so few if them. I didn't even think of that. I know what you mean about not wanting to wait. I can't wait long for things either:p Like I said, I have no problem at all with you giving Yamaha a chance, hell...I'd like to get a Banshee but I don't have enough money to keep my 400 and have the Banshee. Like I said, no flames inteded. If you're offended I apologize, I didn't mean it that way...:cool:

Not trying to change the subject but, 416 do you still have your trailer for sale? i think you will like the yfz for mx. I would like to give one a try, but i work at a honda, suzuki, and kawasaki shop where i live and i dont think my boss would like that to much, i will stick with my Z470 it seems to be enough for me.

No doubt, you gotta keep your anhydrous locked up and double-locked up in them parts... and the basterds still will find a way to steal it. Looks like the laws been crackin down in the last 6 months though.

yeah, meth is a huge problem here... dope heads are all over... yeah that was just south of me where they go shot... i purchased a quad last year that a guy had been shot off of. his stepdad shot him and they were drugged up... no custom parts either

congrats on your purchase also 400grl ... you will like it... they 4 sure need a pipe and filter.

haha where do i work?? i am self employed i guess

mods for this thing will include pipe, filter, bars, nerfs, tires/wheels, bumper, YZ cam and maybe some other little stuff... the suspension stays stock for now.:eek2:

yes yes yes... the CRF450 i have will blow the doors off this stock YFZ.. i had them both out lastnight together, but there are still a few bugs to be worked out of my CRF so i didnt get to run them as long as i would have liked.. i have not even put the cam in the CRF450 either...

The first things I am getting are a new intake/filter/jet kit, the cam mod, and nerf bars. Also an axle. I am on a limited quad fund at the moment, so mods will be slow for a while.......I just need the basics to get me racing!! :)

Have you gotten to ride it yet?? :)

yeah i rode it for a few minutes lastnight.. didnt romp on it too hard, still breaking it in..i was impressed with it really.. it took a little to get used to, the seat is alot narrower than a 400ex. yeah the first thing they need is to get to breathing better... it is raining here now so i cant ride:(

What!! NO exhaust??? you gotta get an exhaust. the stocker is terrible.

I know it is....but I can't afford an exhaust right now....I figure the filter/intake system with the baffle out will be better than just a new pipe system without the filter/intake......so.....it sucks...but I can't really do both right now. I hate stock pipes.

Sorry, i have to disagree. i would get a good foam filter (twin air) $20 and the yz needle $10 , pilot $5 and 172/170 mains $10 and leave it at that. get a nice slip on from hmf or so for around $230 and you wouldn't believe what your quad is capable of.

a good intake system is over a hundred easy so bleed just a tad more and get more out of it. i do understand though where your comming from.

what year motor did you put in your crf?? im just wondering because i might want to make my 400 into a crf

416exmx you said that the CRF is hard to find out your way? Thats wild, I was at one dealer today and another the day before yesterday. Today there were 4 at RMC on the showroom floor and only a couple yammies. Hinshaws had three in stock on tuesday. MSRP is the going price out here, nobody is cuttin deals on any of the new thumpers.

Personaly, I like the looks and the electric start on the yam. The Honda is growing on me, but to pay all that bread and still have to kick it:blah: Sorry but I guess I'm spoiled in my old age:p
