gauging ears??

ok i got my ears pierced a while back and im thinkin about gauging them..i have an 18 right now and i wanted to know what size i should go to ... i think it goes 16 then 14?? also does it hurt any??? jw

I have eights right now. Just get yourself a guaging spike or a use the end of a paint brush. Works for me..doesen't hurt much. I guaged one last night using a pen. And no-I'm not a gothic kid incase anhyone gets that impression (not that there's anything wrong with that).

go to school with a pen through your ear.. ahhahah i dont want it quite that big tho... i was thinkin only a 16 so i could fit all kinds of stuff in my ear.. but not a pen lol

Theres not a pen in it now.. ha that would be kinda rediculous..you won't be able to fit much in a 16g. If you wanna fit stuff in there go to atleast a 10. Even then, not much will fit aside from a 10g earing.

You still have the sweing needle in your ear? LOL. The sweing needle is about at 14g. So get a 14g earing, then do it.

for all you guys that have large holes in your ears, is it true that they will not heal?

I've seen some guys that pull the rings out of their ears for a long time and the ear stays stretched out...

my freind has his ears guaged pretty big, they are like 1 1/4 in big......lol thats to big, i am giong to do mine, but i dont hink that big im going to get it done professionaly just not to shuv **** in my ear.

tapered gauging tool.

it'll take a while for it to stretch to the size you want though.

if you were close i could dremel it to an 8g. though that is very care intensive.

and yes Mofo, if you go 10g or bigger, it's not gonna close up on ya. i've seen 12g close up.

my friend had 8's and they are healing, he took them out of april last year and now they are like 14 size, so they will heal but it will take a hell of a long time

bleeding is ok. just check and make sure the tear isn't too big.

Just keep washing it with an antibacterial soap...should be fine with some blood. Guaging spikes work pretty good too. I had a four a year ago and it healed..all you have to do to get them to heal is gradually shrink the hole. I went from 4 to 6 to 8 to 10, etc. Healed up pretty good..I don't know about anyone else though. Now I've got two eights. Wouldn't go any bigger.

i had my bottom lobes at 5/8 and my top left lobe at 6g and a 10g in my cartledge. stretching your cartledge hurt the worst. leave it in until you can change it and rotate it and flick it without it hurting at all. i wish i never would have done it. mine wont shrink up past 0g. there are constant slits in my ears now. lost the chance to get 90% of the jobs around here because of it. i use to walk around school with AA batteries in my ear, but then THOSE were too small lol. biggest thing i ever stuck through my ear would be my pinky. that would freak alot of people out lol. just keep it clean and NEVER clean acrylic with piercing solution, use soap and water. otherwise it cracks. umm.....make sure its something you want to do and you know that it will never heal up past around 6g. everyone is different though. ive seen 00g heal up to 18 but ive seen people not heal up when they hit 14g. i dont have any pictures anymore sorry.

i went from a regular size to a 14 g...then i bought a stretching horn that went to a 8..then i bought a spike that went to a 2..i wore the 2's for about 6-7 months and bought a set of 0 g's and they went right in without and work..then i went up to 000 and it bleed like a b****..i took them out about after a month..mine healed up to about a 6 and i've had em out for over a year..i wear em maybe once every 2 months..i had the top of my ear to a 10..it dont hurt at all..the thing that hurt me the most was going from a 14 to a 8..i dont recommend skipping alot of sizes..it'll rip your ear

I guess I am not much up for putting holes in my body, but that's me. IMO I think it looks disgusting and do not understand why anyone would want to put that crap in their ear. Hell, if you are wanting to put sockets in your ear...just use a tap. Just dont wind up like those people in Africa that try to expand their ear lobes so they touch the ground or try to expand your bottom lip to look like a dinner plate.

Yep, It's a SINGLE flared "flesh tunnel." You dont want a double flare because they're alot harder to get in. If you didnt know, a single flared, is where it only goes out on one side and you secure the back with a small rubber band. A double flared is where it goes out on both sides...So, I just think it would be a b!tch to put in.

i had double flared 2g a while back. the first time you put them in hurts like hell but if you leave them in for like 2 weeks and pull on them alot, they will actually stretch out a little bit so you can take them out easier.

Hmmmm i have an 8. i wanted to go 4 but never got around to it. In other words I guess I chickened out. It hurt but only for a few days and it will heal alot faster if you put neosporin in the holes everynight and twist the earing.:eek2:

Yeah it's pretty much true. A 2 gauge is considered the point of no return. It kind of sucks to think that they will always be there but then again it doesn't it's something you will have to live with forever unless you get surgery.

personaaly, I don't mind the gauges ears, I've though about it myself but I have both ears double pierced and I don't really wanna go from 2 to 1.. and the stretching spikes look stupid..
but otherwise like 10 through 4 maybe 2g don't look bad but when people get like 1 inch holes I think its gross..

i just stretched to 9/16 double flared eyelets. my gauging experience has taken about 5 months so i went quite fast. my best advice is listen to your body, find a good piercer with some good knowledge, even if you dont have them taper for you. beware after 2g each size increases 2mm instead of 1mm. im here to answer any questions you guys might have, i have many friends that are piercers and tattoo artists.
