ok here is the scoop.

i get to work today and theres a message for me to call a guy i know about a quad for sale. so i call him and he lays out his story.

he recieved some cash awhile back and bought a new foreman450 with a plow...a new tahoe blazer and more toyz. so 2 weeks ago he trades the foreman in on a new 300ex and pockets some cash from the trade. he rides it for maybe an hour in his yard (he lives in the city btw) and thats it for the last 2 weeks.

anyway, his mom died sunday and he had blown all his cash and was all jammed up needing cash for the funeral and such. all i had on me was $1500 cash and he took it:eek: the thing is so new the title hasnt even arrived from honda as of yet. i got the 300ex, and the sales papers , bill of sale and the warranty card.

i hated to kinda get such a deal but what can ya do:p

Kenny, I started on a LT230S Quadsport and then within a month my dad bought the first LT250R. The night he brought the 'Sport home we were learning to ride it just in our property. My brother and I kept stalling it because we'd never had a clutch bike before. After stalling it about 10 times in a row my dad told us that if we didn't quit stalling it he'd park it the rest of the night. Needless to say it didn't get stalled again. After about 3 days on it we were golden. I'm telling you right now, if Cody's feet can touch the pegs and he's shifting it...you might as well throw a For Sale sign on his Eton cuz that boy's a 300EX rider now:devil:

Pappy
03-02-2004, 04:53 PM
well, i dont really want him riding it too much ...other then nice slow stuff. he maybe able to operate it but the weight of the quad he cant handle yet.

believe it or not, his eton will smoke the 300 in the woods. im still impressed with that thing.

he cant race anything bigger then the 90 so he will be on there for atleast a season. if he does good.....a cr 80 engine may find its way into a R chassis:p

Good gosh....I can see it now. That 300 is gonna be the pimpest 300 of them all. The chicks will all be after the Code man! :D

Doing good on the clutch so far, however i will need more practice and to grow some more. I need to practice alot more.

I am really happy for my mom getting this quad, now she can ride with us and not be left behind or riding the utility. she can go faster now.

Thanks dad

After riding his Eton 90 for a week or two my son wanted to ride my 300, I sat behind him and operated the clutch to let him feel the "drag" of the engine and feel the movement of the bike. Took him to a large open field and in within a half an hour, bingo. It is however to heavy and tall of a machine for him to throw around in the woods, the Kasea 250 sits about 4" lower and has a heavy front end, 5 speed manual an good suspension. We have been on several difficult rides "slow" but throughout it all he has done well. I'm sure your (Codeman) riding skills are very good and you will be fitting onto the 300 soon. Great deal Pappy!;)

id say a set of SSD ELKA's would help the 300 out, but the weight is the biggest factor in letting him ride our 300 other then in an open field under very controled conditions. im more interested in him learning the clutch....and after a few months he will prolly just wanna haul *** but that aint happening till he can control the quad

03-03-2004, 08:15 AM
I think pappy bought the 300 for me and the ole lady as a wedding present.. You really shouldn't have pappy...:p

They are great all around quads JMO, good luck Cody & be careful & have fun ;) My son(13) LOVES my 300, he will be racing it next winter flattrack, he's already got a couple people in the class he will be running nervous :blah:  he's can already out ride them haha

congrats pappy and codeman

u are exaxtly right about the shcoks i used to have a 250x that grew into a 330 and loved it back then but i just ran some works dual rates w/ rezzies and it was a total different machine

i think it will help him alot riding it in the field, i still know guys who need some practice with the clutch in the field!
