Rear shock?

When I bought my 400ex's used. I got one with a different rear shock.. I took it off with my stock 400ex shock and compared the two. the spring on the other shock was HUGE, about double the size compared to stock. I counted the coils and the stock has about 12 and the other had 6. I put the shock on the 400ex im driving now and it say about a inch or 2 lower then b4. the shock doesn't have a name on it and Im curious if its a revalved rear stock 400ex shock or an aftermarket. and the rezzie is a huge red thing. any ideas?:confused:

Here is the pic of the questionable rear shock. My camcorder takes crappy stills and they are all dark so I photoshopped it as much as possible to brighten it a little.

I can't tell much from the pic but the hose looks like a stock 250R

I'll get some more pics when I get home but can anyone take a few guesses at what it is?
