What clutch set-ups are you guys/gals using with your modified 400 motors? There's occasional reference to putting CR500 springs in a stock clutch, but that will only lower the clamping pressure. The CR springs are the same wire but quite a bit shorter, although a CR uses 6 instead of the EX's 5. any suggestions?

TC told me to use stock plates and Barnett springs. Thats one of the best setups. Then its not really necessary but a Hinson or Vortex basket would be nice too!

I am running stock plates and fibers and stock springs and my clutch slips a little when under heavy load even with new fibers and plates. It also did the same thing with heavy springs and I hated the clutch pull. For the money I would go with an 8 plate system (requires Inner hub and pressure plate). All of the racers I have talked to suggest running stock clutch and springs or one step heavier on the springs (that is if you don't have money to go with the 8 plate). Give Sparks a call on the 8 plate.
