My 400ex is stock except for the WB eseries slip on. it seems that when i shift into 5th in a drag race there is no more power left. almost like in 4th gear its as fast as she'll go sometimes i forget there is a 5th gear.. would going down one tooth on the front sprocket help? I raced a stock 400 artic cat(same as kaw and suz.) about a half mile and he beat me by about 2 bike lengths. I also have a aftermarket rev box i havent tried yet( too hard to start).

are you running paddles, and is this drag race at st.joe?

if so you need to run the for snows, or the pro wedges. they won't kill you r top-end like normal paddles.

if you are running stock sprokets 15-38 with 20-inch tires in rear, yeah i had to drop a tooth in the front for the sand, it bogged mine down too.

good luck!!!!!!!!

your tires could be diggin real good, you should switch to the 14 tooth fron and see how you like it. that's what i run there. i was also thinking of running the 40 tooth rear.

i would plan on a top end decrease with that 14. my friend tried one and he definately lost some up top.
