250ex - 300ex carb install

Hey guys, I need a little info:

I just installed the Powroll big-bore kit for my wife and new HMF full exhaust. It runs great, but I HATE the 250ex carb, its impossible to balance the "popping" with good throttle response.
So now that the motor is modded I want to add a 300ex carb.
HOWEVER: does anyone know if its a direct fit, and if not, what is involved?
Also, any particular place to get them, I would assume they are easy to find, I also understand that they changed carbs on the 300ex at some point, which one are you guys using?

I dont see why it will not work, should bolt on. Check ebay for a carb should be able to find one real reasonalbe. Is the 300ex carb bigger or the same size as the 250?

The 300ex carb is larger than the 250ex. It looks like I would need to change the intake boot, not sure about the airbox.

I saw that someone on here had done this mod, I was hoping that I could get some jetting/installation tips about this, so if anyone knows, I would really appreciate it.
