How loud is the LRD pipe??

ridered03

thanks for putting them up shamisc!!, the tires are like 18x11x9. I put the full system on and the stock air filter and i did NOT rejet it it runs spot on!!! but when i took my lid off it ran too lean so i will have to rejet w/a new filter and no lid. The pipe cost me 450 or some where around there, and it does not have a s/a. It is very loud without being overly loud and annoying, it sounds very sweet!!!!:D

How's it run? Does the pipe make good bottom end? LRD quoted me 3.4 HP bottom, 5.4 mid and 7 on the top! Where sparks said 3HP bottom up to 5HP. I personally think the sparks looks better. The LRD has a long can. But, I have z400 experience with LRD and they are awesome. I am up in the air between the two, and I want to order one. HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP!!!

My brothers R came w/ the LRD & he didn't like it so he put it on his sons, it does good on his. My brother went w/ the ESR w/ the shorty silencer & really likes that.

I just talked to ESR on the phone. He is claiming 8hp more on the top. They have a quiet style endcap available also. The pipe sells for 585 plus 65 for a quiet syle end cap!:eek2:

I talked to LRD, and they told me that the full exhaust will be done today, he did not have any numbers to give me, but would call me back ASAP with them. But I know they make a decent 4 stroke exhaust so we'll see what they come up with.

I talked to Duncan, and he claims to have the best 450r pipe available. But he did not give me any numbers to back it up. He did tell me the gains are 15-20%.

Lets not forget HMF, they are making 7 bottom, 7 mid, 4 on top, and it makes 13+lbs of torque. They are also the least expensive of all the pipes:blah:

The real question is how honest are these guys with their dynos?

The only thing I am really stuck on is cam replacement from the companies. Really want to cam and pipe it @ the same time. Would get the HMF if they were working on a cam.

I'm not so sure if the cam is going to work or not work better with one pipe setup or not. I figure I'll do the bolt ons while its brand new then do the cam and high compression piston later on, when you are at that point, no one will really have the most accurate or best numbers for you. Sparks told me that filter, cam, and pipe will give 9+ hp. I rather wait a little bit on the cams and piston till i open up the engine anyways, they'll only improve them, is what I figure.
