Blaster vs the 300ex

Which one is better for wut reasons and which one should i get?

300ex, top speed is pretty close, butthe handling on the 300ex is wayyy better, plus the blaster feels so small

blaster does 56, 300ex does 52, blaster with 4700 in it (price of 300ex) would beat 400ex's, they have sweet handling and are very easy to jump, more suspension travel, no battery or anything to hassle with, i will race any 300ex out there

i honestly think i like my new blaster better than my 300ex, it is so much lighter, suspension isnt quite as good, but i think elka can fix that;) its a really fun bike, and i love the way the power comes on.

you wont go wrong w/ either, and if ya want a 300ex, shoot me an offer, mine might be for sale if the price is right;)

I got a 300 and like it but I also rode Bradley's blaster this weekend and I like it also. Either way you are going to have a good bike.

Bradley... Are you selling the 350? Or the other 300?

i have owned both and I feel the only thing the 300ex has on the blaster is eletric start, other than that I would get a blaster and after owning both the blaster is just as reliable as long as you maintain it, when i did own the 300ex many friends thought that the trx 300ex looked like a trx 90. i personally hate them get the blaster

Lil, after FL, i think ii can make the blaster a better machine than my 300. its just as easy to ride, and much lighter, so you dont wear out nearly as quick on it

Thats a tuff one, we have both & my son races the blaster (I did last year also) for power the blaster w/ our setups can outrun my 300 in top end:grr: but for comfort wise I will take the 300 anyday & unfortunetly so would he. He likes the 300 for jumping I get on the blaster & Just don't like it anymore just am not comfy on it but it's a to each his own thing

well your blaster must not be right cause i have done nothing to mine and i outran my stepdad and he was doing at least 65. I would definetly go with the blaster:cool:

Just remember there is a BIG diffrence between the two. The blaster is TWO stoke and the 300 is a 4 stroke. I would get a blaster but ya gotta remember its a little more maintence.

it depends on if you like a 4stroke or 2stroke. they are both close in speed though.

I have never rode a blaster, but i love my 250x which is the same as a 300ex.

blasters ha.... what a joke... just my opinion from experience. i guess they rock considering when i had my 250ex it beat them little things they are made for tots you wont fit on one unless ur a midget

your right, the old blasters are a joke, the new models(03 and newer) are real nice now that they have decent brakes. my blaster is bone stock w/ the exception of 9 inch rear wheels and 20 inch holeshots. mamged to work down to 4th place in the sport class on it, which isnt too bad. you can make a blaster a hell of a lot faster than a 300ex.
also, the blaster does have more suspension travel, but the 300 still has better suspension.

i used to have a blaster with banshee shocks up front, 250r rear shock, port and polish, bored .020 over delta v-force reed cagefmf fatty pipe, nerfs, banshee axle, k&n, offset front douglas.190, rear douglas .190, holeshots all around, tag bars, new sprokets and chain, ac dirt screen bumper, and some other stuff, it was a nice bike, very eye catchin, i did so much witht hat thing, and beat the crap out of it and it still ran. but i beat 400ex's, 300ex's, and some other bikes, i couldnt see what they were since my dust was all over them :p

actualy, ive seen dynos that say 25 horse w/ fmf sst exhaust.

blasters are faster and can be made WAY faster than 300ex's, 250x's, and definatly 250ex's.

240 kitted blasters got some serious balls for what it is, i rode one one time and it pulled alongside my R for like a few secs, decent for a damn blaster

well, there is more than 1 240 kit w/ 40 horse, that would emabarass of 400, even a piped one. i'm not gonna get in a pissing match w/ you, but open your eyes, 400's are not that fast! and blasters respond a heck of a lot better to mods.

take the 1800 you save by getting a new blaster and not a 400ex, put that in the motor, and a 400ex WILL NOT win

Blasty's are fun and fast.. I own one (well my wifes)... Just getting finished with it from fresh powder and some other little things... Bike looks awesome for a wopping $2000 now if I just invest like lets say $500 to $600 dollars on her I can take 400ex's all day long...

thats what I dont get about this place its like everybody wants you to bow down to the 400ex.... it aint what it use to be... the days for the 400ex are running out... to bad it will never be like its big brother the "R"...

And another thing for some one to say that a 250ex will run with a blasty ..... Thats a joke... I started on a 250ex and let me tell you that me stock on the 250ex and the blaster stock ... those damm blasters would wooppp my *****$$ every time... even my nephew that is like 245lbs and me 160lbs at the time... he would still wop my @$$ .... open your eyes [people... :macho

Nicely said Bradley, boy there are some stubborn people on here that want to get in pissing matches huh ROFLMFAO :D :blah: I totally agree w/ you on this subject, our blaster which isn't even close to it's FULL potential was out there smoking $15K blasters this last flattrack season, it was pretty funny especially when it took the Championship & some of the Dad's found out how much we had in ours LOL they are fun LITTLE quads, & BTW DillPickle I am a midget hehehe naw but I'm pretty short @ 5' :eek:

YEP Quadrider there just isn't much you can do w/ a sideways motor. My nephew has one too & ours beats it every time, thats why he moved up to a R, & gave it too his Mom LOL perfect for her:eek: YES it's piped but still SLOW AS MOLASSES!!!!!

Alot of top speed depends on your weight!

1) i dont have time to read all your stupid arguments... but just stfu... its annoying

2) im currently building my blaster up. its stripped to the frame right now. i ported and polished it myself, made a 1mm base spacer, got a pipe and silencer, milled the head, decked the jug, it has reeds, uni filter, custom airbox, getting the head rechambered, were boring out the carb... probably some stuff im forgetting. now lets just add this up

stock blaster- about 17hp
pipe/silencer- brings you to a MINIMUM of 20hp
port and polish- MINIMUM of 23hp
base spacer-MINIMUM of 25hp
milled head-MINIMUM of 27hp
reeds, filter, lid- MINIMUM of 28hp
head rechambered-MINIMUM of 30hp
Bored carb-MINIMUM of 32hp

so blaster=320lbs (mine is less.. but we will go with stock wieght)+about 30hp

im not sure on all of those estimates but i know most of them are low... so you do the math, and tell me if it'l beat a 400ex;)

with all the dynos iv seen 17 was the highest and 10 was the lowest

I really think the blaster has 14 HP iv seen more dynos in that area..........

ive always heard 18 horse, and there are some dynos at blasterhq that show 25 w/ a fmf sst exheaust and good air filter, not sure how acurate that is, 25 seems kinda high, but i beleive 18 if its broke in right

alright ive got a question for all you 300 owners. ive got an 03 blaster and the power is fine for what i want in a sport quad. but the suspension plain sux and its really small feeling. would a 300ex be much better, ive ridden a 400 and it felt perfect but i dont have that kinda money.

WEll after riding our blaster & 300 I would MUCH rather have the 300 in fact I dont' even ride the blaster anymore becuz of the crappy ride it gives!!! But I'M SURE everyone will pop on here & say how chitty the stock 300 suspension is :rolleyes: of course not all of us can afford aftermarket ;) between the 2 w/ stock shocks the 300 is WAY better JMO:D

ok,first of all if the 400ex isnt all that how come you see so many winning races? Second of all if a blaster could beat a 400ex wouldn;t you think that you would see more pro's riding blaster's(that would be the day).

because at one time, the 400ex was the bike to have, sorry, its time has run out. i'm in now way saying a 400ex is a bad machine, i'm just saying the you can make a stock bore/stroke blaster faster than a stock 400ex

thank you dirtmomma, its just like the 250x, in the early 90's, if you wanted to race a foustroke, it was the bike to have, but now theres better options out there. dosent make it a bad bike tho does it?
