Jetted my 300ex the other day and ran it it ran fine. I put a 118 dynojet in it. I have a fmf powercore4 and a k&n coming. First question, will I need to bump my jet up some to compensate for the air filter? And second, if I am at idle and I crack the throttle open there's a hesitation but if I have it open about an 1/8 throttle and crack it open its very responsive, any reason why?

Since there's hesitation from idle if you jab the throttle all the way sounds to me like you may be a little lean just off of your pilot jet.

Try going a 1/2 turn out on your fuel screw and see if it helps.

As I recall the 300EX doesn't have an accelerator pump so it will have a slight hesitation if you go from idle and just wack the throttle wide open. You can help it out some by turning the fuel screw out a little. The proper way to set the pilot screw is to get it completely up to operateing temp and adjust it in and out until you reach the highest idle.

Nope, the 300EX does have an accelerator pump.

I'll try the mixture screw next time I go out, I think i'll need to fab a small *** screwdriver though. The 118 dynojet was what was recomended by them but my plug was white so I bumped it up to a 124 and checked it with a brand new plug. After riding for about an hour and now its a little grayer, should I go even higher or do you think it might be the additives in the fuel? Thanks for your help guys
