I asked before and never got a good answer.. i am wondering if i buy this high comp piston if i iwll have to run race gas. or if i can run 93 just fine. And also, will the stock rod handle it? thanks

You might want to post what piston it is.

Just a rule of thumb, But

11:1 and down you would probably be all right on pump.

12:1 and up run race or at least mixed

i have 12:1 in mine and it runs great!!
i only run a high octane pump

I also run a 12:1 and can get away with pump, but can hear a slight ping under load. I normally run an good additive or mix gas so that the engine lasts longer.

It's just better to be safe than sorry the way I see it. It also depends on the gaskets you are running, any change at all in this will have an affect on the true compression ratio.

it is the 12:1 wiseco, same as you both are running. I just really cant afford to run race gas, and also, i run alot of trails and race gas isnt readily accesible. I just want to know if i could run the 93 pump and get away with it..

Find a good fuel additive and 93 pump gas, and you will probably be alright.
