Anybody heard of or done an xr650 to 400ex conversion? I have access to a 93 air cooled xr650 motor.

We are wanting to do a XR600 in a 300,250r or 400 frame we have the motor,carbs,exhaust,shocks,A arms,swing arm so far, we have a 250r frame but it was in a pretty bad wreck & a little too tweeked LOL now I would REALLY like to put it in a 300 frame but it may have to be stretched some not sure what were gonna use yet.

I tried to put an XR500 motor in a 250X and it wouldn't fit without some serious frame modifcations and you would have to take off the rear fenders to start it.

Yeah we figured that, even w/ the R frame it would have to be. We have a serious welder/fabricator heck we just might have to have him build us a custom one :blah: Was it needing to be wider & taller or what?? Just trying to get some ideas ;) Thanks

The 2 top bars that run from the steering stem to the seat are 2 close toghether for the engine to fit through and too low for the engine to fit under them.
You would have to raise or widen those bars.
