I have a problem with my starter on my 400ex. Every time i try to start it it clicks then it stops.And when i get it pushed started the lights dim when i hit the throttle like the battery is dead.

Is the battery dead?, if not check for a bad or loose ground corroded or loose wires and connections, or a bad starter solonoid. there is a test that you could do to find resistance in the connections called a "voltage drop test" use google to try to find directions how to do the test using a muli meter, sorry im to lazy to type the instructions & my carple tunnel is killing me
