I have the HRC kit and am going to get the Sparks pipe. Is it better to change the front sprocket to a 13t or change the rear to a 39T sprocket to get the best low end responce?

I can tell you changing the front will give you a lower gear than changing the rear.

1 tooth in the rear will not make that noticeable of a difference, +2-3 teeth in the rear will be close to the equivelant of -1 in the front. I would just try the 13t. I did it and like it much more!!

first gear feels fine to me, i got used to it about a half hour after riding it.. do you think a 13th front will make a huge difference.

It all depends on the type of riding you are doing. I ride woods, and I weigh 210lbs, so the 13 is necessary, otherwise i would be on the clutch way too much! If you are riding dunes, then the 14 will be just fine!! the more mods and torque you add, the less you will need the lower gearing. The 13 definately made a difference to me, this is partially why you are seeing the yfz's getting out in front in some drags, there gearing is MUCH lower than a TRX, hence alowing them to get through the gears faster!! Most races aren't long enough to take full advantage of the tall gearing of the trx, so i geared down to the 13..which still gives it 5mph advantage.

5 mph advantage over what. buy reducing the front sprocket you have decreased the top end. You have gained in quickness off the line though.

By gearing the R down with a 13 tooth sprocket it still has a 5mph top end advantage over a YFZ.
