I have been looking through old posts about them for a 400/440
From what I see here the xr250 box has a higher limiter but is hard to start cold. Modded 400 boxes have no rev limiter but start nice. I personally would like it to start easy, and stop at about 10500, does anybody make one that works well? There has got to be an electrical genius out there changing circuits in 400 boxes to achieve this. If I have to I will get a modded one. Who is the best? Is it Fischer cycle and do they have a web site? Last but not least.... I almost dread to ask.... If they are being drilled and snipped or just drilled somebody has to have bought one and would be able to look in the hole and see what exactly has been done. I am capable and would rather just do it myself if there is not a good box out there.
Thanks guys.:devil

I havn't had a problem with my White Brothers box yet. It starts up just fine for me with a 45 pilot. Granted it doesn't get below 40 degrees too often here.

TC Racing makes a CDI that is like the Stock CDI. It is still easy to Start in the Cold.

I have the WB rev box and it actually has made it easier to start.. I know I know sounds weird..but it did... or maybe it was the jet kit.. or both, but anyway I like the WB.

I HAD a WB CDI,,it worked great for about 6 months,,then the bike became impossible to start,,cold or hot weather. IT wouldn't start in 90 degree weather in the middle of summer,,,I sold it and run a stock CDI now..Why spend $120 to make a new 400ex not start...plus after dyno test's by 1 or 2 members out here,,the WB CDI showed NO,,power gains...
