300ex Axel Maintenance?

Hi, if the rear axel bearings in my stock 300ex are sealed, what is the little bolt on the bottom of the carrier holder for? It looks like a drain, maybe? Is there any maintenance I can do?

yes after muddy rides, open it up and let some of that muck come out, but its really to to stop the carrier from moving to far past adjustment.

your best be is to take the carrier out every once in awhile and just clean it up, re greese the lip of the seals and clean out the inside of swingarm.
